How to Use a Topper for Picky Dogs
If dinner has become a daily struggle, you’re not alone. Some dogs are just picky. Some are downright dramatic about what’s in their bowl. That’s why we created the Durango Topper: a simple, delicious way to get your dog excited to eat again.
Why Dogs Go Picky
Some dogs get bored. Some are overwhelmed by smell. Others just have preferences. Picky eating is often tied to overexposure to fillers or low-reward flavors. That’s where liver, and real flavor comes in.
What is a topper?
A topper is a powdered or crumbled flavor booster you sprinkle on your dog’s food. Ours is made from our signature Chiplets; high-protein treats baked from beef liver, brown rice flour, and a tiny touch of xanthan gum.
How to Use It
-
Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons over your dog’s kibble
-
Add a splash of warm water for extra aroma
-
Stir or shake the bowl to coat evenly
Why it works
The bold, natural scent of liver grabs attention. Dogs recognize it as a nutrient-rich, rewarding food, tapping into their ancestral instincts.
Real Results
Our co-founder’s dog Betty was always a challenge to feed dinner. Over the years, all sorts of toppings were added: cottage cheese, eggs, olive oil- nothing ever gauranteed success. One spoonful of Durango Topper changed everything. Dinner’s now the best part of the day.
